StripScore: What It Is and How To Boost It

StripScore: What It Is and How To Boost It

Want to crack the front page of StripChat?

The most important thing to understand is that every cam model on StripChat is being judged by an invisible 'referee' - a private algorithm known as StripScore.

And if you're cam modelling on StripChat, it's the single most important thing in your professional life that you've probably never properly understood.

So let's fix that.

This guide is for new models trying to get up to speed, and existing performers who feel stuck in the rankings and can't work out why. We'll cover what StripScore actually is, what feeds it, and the legit, within-the-rules tactics that can make a tangible difference to your exposure on one of the world's fastest growing cam sites.

(One thing we're NOT covering: bot-padding, fake viewers, or any of the dodgy black-hat nonsense that gets your account nuked. We like you having a career! )

What Is StripScore?

StripScore is StripChat's internal ranking number for every model on the platform.

It determines where you appear on the homepage, in your gender section, and inside every category page - #lovense, #latina, #bigboobs, VR, and so on.

StripChat describes it as an "exclusive system that backs models' ranking" - and crucially, says you can improve it to "rank higher on the model list and hence get more traffic in your room."

That last bit is - as you'd expect - the source of much contention among StripChat models because what we're dealing with, effectively is a feedback loop with teeth.

Higher score > better grid position > more drive-by viewers > more tippers > higher earnings > higher score still.

It compounds while you're live. It recalculates constantly throughout your session. This is the flywheel effect that separates the top earners from those staring glumly into nothingness several hundred thumbnail previews deep.

The flip side to boosting StripScore is just as brutal. A quiet hour drags your position down, fewer new viewers stumble in, the next hour is quieter still, and before you know it you're in a death spiral with the webcam-frozen brigade.

What Actually Feeds Your StripScore?

StripChat has only ever officially confirmed a rough outline of the algorithm. So let's separate gospel from gossip...

The confirmed stuff (straight from StripChat):

Their FAQ states it plainly - apart from having a complete profile, "the main factor that takes part in boosting your StripScore is your revenue per hour."

Not total tokens.

Not how long you grind.

Revenue per hour.

This is the single most misunderstood thing in camming. A four-hour session that pulls 2,000 tokens beats a twelve-hour marathon that pulls the same 2,000 tokens - every single time. The algorithm rewards intensity, not endurance, and it's not a score that can be pulled up by sheer numbers of hours worked.

In many cases, this tactic can actually be detrimental...

This is also why your revenue share matters A LOT - your share tier and your StripScore both move with revenue performance.

The second confirmed factor is profile completeness. Photos, videos, a proper bio, a tip menu. There's various evidence that StripChat wants at least one photo album and one video to satisfy this part of the algo.

This is from their own guidance:

Your revenue roughly accounts for 50-80% of your StripScore. The other factors account for 20-50%. So you can still improve your position on the site even if you don't get that many viewers yet.

StripScore factors

Other likely factors

Everything else circulating out there about boosting StripScore - and there's a lot - comes from coaches, studios and models comparing notes. It's well-tested knowledge, but we can't confirm it one way or another.

The usual suspects:

  • Public-show ratings - viewers rating your shows appears to carry real weight

  • Consistency - broadcasting on a predictable schedule, not vanishing for a week

  • Microphone on - silent rooms reportedly underperform; some models list mic use as a direct input

  • Stream quality - a stable, high-res broadcast over a buffering mess (makes sense - and confirmed by SC)

  • Active tip goals - running visible goals rather than just asking for tips (recommended as 4 tips minimum)

  • Lovense / interactive toys - qualifies you for #interactive and pumps your tip velocity

  • Fan club activity, paid albums, Friends-Only content - passive revenue that ticks over even when you're offline

The 14-Day Promo Window (Don't Waste It!)

If you're brand new to StripChat, don't sleep on your initial exposure boost.

New StripChat accounts get a launch boost - which lasts up to 30 days and includes a total of 80 streaming hours.

During this window, the algorithm artificially floats you above models with similar performance.

It is, frankly, free real estate. And your chance to shine.

The mistake new models make? They treat week one like a soft launch. They do a tentative two-hour stream, get nervous, log off.

Catastrophic.

You want to hit your promo window with your profile 100% complete from day one, streaming your maximum sustainable hours, in peak time. The goal isn't just to earn during the boost - it's to convert that borrowed traffic into regulars who'll still be tipping you long after the algorithm stops being generous.

You get one promo window. Spend it like it matters.

General Tips For Improving Your Score

Want to get a headstart improving your StripScore?

Here's the playbook we'd recommend:

  • Stream when your most likely punters are awake. StripChat's traffic peaks roughly 9pm–2am US Eastern, driven by the North American and European overlap. Tuesday to Thursday evenings are reliably strong. Streaming at 3pm on a Monday.... sure, you can do it, but the best argument for doing so is if you have a specific audience that is online at that time.

  • Run a proper tiered tip menu. Ten-to-twenty items. Cheap, fast actions in the 10–75 token band to keep the chat constantly tipping (remember - velocity is what revenue-per-hour measures). Mid-tier items at 100-300. A few premium 500+ options for the whales. Pin it, repeat it via chatbot every ten minutes, slap it on an OBS overlay and you should be off to a decent start.

  • Set goals that actually finish. Price your goal below what your average room reliably tips in half an hour. Hit it. Restart it. A visible progress bar inching toward completion is a tipping machine... empty rooms with no goal are something we see all too often from newer models.

  • Ask for ratings. "Hey, if you enjoyed that, drop me a rating - it helps me show up higher on the site." Say it after every private, every completed goal. Don't be afraid to cheerlead.... nobody else is going to do it for you!

  • Keep the mic on and actually talk. Dead air kills rooms.

  • Enable Lovense. Easy win if you have a compatible toy. It drops you into #interactive and triggers the rapid-fire small-tip cascade that can make a huge difference to your earnings.

  • Build a Fan Club. Recurring monthly subs are passive revenue that keeps your baseline ticking over on slow days. We don't have explicit evidence that this directly influences StripScore, but based on the other known factors, it would certainly make sense.

  • Finish your profile on day one. Background image, 5+ photos, at least one video if possible, populated bio panels, a tip menu with real items. This is the low hanging fruit of stuff you can do to boost your cred on StripChat before you've even started streaming.

And The Mistakes That Quietly Tank You...

Just as important - here's what to stop doing:

  • Going AFK on camera. Against the rules, kills your revenue-per-hour, risks penalties. Triple whammy of no-no-no.

  • Marathon streaming. One twelve-hour slog loses to five tight three-hour sessions. Not just because of the algo, but because... seriously... no performer can maintain a great show for such a sustained period. It's not worth the burnout.

  • Bouncing offline mid-session. From what we've seen, disconnects appear to hammer the consistency signal and will likely impact your score.

  • An empty profile. If you are new to SC, it's understandable: you want to get started right away and start getting those tips, right? But by jumping in too soon without fully prepping your account for the golden New Model promo period, you're harming your overall score.

  • Logging off right before peak hours. You're forfeiting the exact window where StripScore compounds fastest. Takes a little time to understand the best broadcasting windows, so we'd recommend doing your research in the cam community beforehand.

And then there's the obvious career-ending stuff - off-site contact, non-token payments, faking a turned-off Lovense - isn't a "tank your score" risk, as such, but a recipe for the dreaded ban hammer.
