Overview

Every cam site swears blind it's full of "real girls". IsLive might be the only one where she could plausibly be your neighbour.

If you live in Eindhoven...

Yep, this is the most concentrated collection of Dutch (and Belgian) cam models we've come across on CamsRank, albeit a small one.

On a typical visit we counted around 60 performers online, split more or less down the middle between Dutch-speakers and an international supporting cast of Germans, Ukrainians, Brits and the odd South African. The common theme is that nearly ALL of the performers can speak Dutch.

One of the things you'll notice on this site is the lack of agency gloss, and the complete absence of Bucharest mega-studio sheen.

IsLive homes in on a simple formula... amateurs in their bedrooms, webcam pointed, ready to go. What else do you need, right?!

The Dutch flavour is unsurprising if we dig under the surface. Live since 2003, it's the oldest continually-running cam platform in the Netherlands… and boy, does it look it.

At first glance, this site screams bare-bones Streamate.

It's got old-school thumbnails, a flat little menu, and category labels left in Dutch even after you've switched the whole site to English. (Nothing screams "premium global experience" quite like an unexplained "Dik" tab lol.)

There's no discovery feed, no roulette, no VR, and - most critically - no free nudity. Hell, there's not even free teaser shows. This is a strictly pay-per-minute affair through and through: the wallet comes out before anything worth watching does.

On the bright side, it's cheap ("Dat is goedkoop!").

Our testing pegged the average private show at around €0.83/min, which lands IsLive comfortably in the budget end of our cheapest private shows rankings.

Don't expect a world class UX or a glossy modern platform. IsLive is seriously dated in that sense, but it's still a good pick for anyone who specifically wants Dutch-speaking, girl-next-door, one-on-one camming.

02

Models

5.0 / 10

IsLive is a boutique operation, and not a very big one.

We averaged around 60 live models across our visits - fewer than you'll find on XCams, and a fraction of what the StripChats of the world put out. What you're paying for here isn't volume. It's nationality.

Ultimately our recommendation comes down to... do you want to chat with horny Dutch amateurs?!

Because if you do? Quids in!

IsLive doesn't publish a total number of models in their database. But they do have an infinite-scrolling homepage. We went through the pain of manually counting every single model and the total count came to 3270.

Roughly half the roster broadcasts in Dutch (or Flemish), and the site front-loads them hard: of the top 20 featured shows when we last visited, 13 were Dutch-speaking. The other half was a curious scatter of Germans, Ukrainians and Brits, with the odd Canadian, Pole or South African mixed in. Notably absent is the Romanian/Colombian studio conveyor belt that floods most freemium site... IsLive's international girls feel as homespun as its Dutch ones.

And homespun is the word. These are amateurs, filming close-up from their bedrooms. For better or worse, it's the girl-next-door fantasy... Dutchie-style.

Female Performers

IsLive homepage view

It's a female site. Overwhelmingly so... more on that below.

The age profile is actually pretty decent. Where the freemium giants bury their mature models under a teenage avalanche, IsLive showcases a nice mix of mature and younger models. Across the top 20 shows, the average age sat in the mid-30s, and a full third of the headline performers were 40 or older (we clocked two at 51 and 55). If you like your women with a few years on them, this is rare and fertile ground.

Filtering, however, is an afterthought. It's really bad.

The entire menu runs to six tabs: All, Studentes (female students), Slank (slim), Dik (thick), Ebony and Toys. That's your lot.

IsLive Categories

It also throws up the occasional oddity. We counted 26 live shows under Slank (slim) and exactly one under Dik (thick). Make of that what you will - but the Dutch viewing public clearly isn't here for curves.

Male Performers

There aren't any.

On closer inspection, the broadcasting terms don't forbid men - in principle, anyone can sign up via ClubISLive and stream.

But across multiple visits we didn't spot a single male performer in the listings, and there's no Male filter to go hunting with anyway. If you want men, there's no point in browsing here.

Trans Performers

Same story, only more so.

There's no Trans category, no trans filter, and not one trans performer surfaced on any of our visits.

We even ran a few searches to be sure - including a plain Google for "ISLive.com trans" - which turned up nothing but stray results from the similarly-named (and entirely unrelated) IMLive.com.

As far as we can tell, the trans audience isn't on IsLive's radar at all.

Couples

Technically, couples are allowed on the platform (models have to get the relevant ID documents approved before they can introduce somebody else on a stream).

In practice, they're also nearly extinct.

We found exactly one couple show across all of our visits, and - predictably by now - there's no filter to surface them. Set that against the 200-plus live couple shows on Stripchat and you get the measure of the gulf. On IsLive, the solo Dutch amateur is the entire product.

Giving a score in this category is difficult because, in reality, the users that gravitate to IsLive are here for the Dutch girls. Nothing wrong with that.

But it's hard to recommend the platform beyond the NL/BE region.

03

Live Shows

5.0 / 10

IsLive isn't a freemium cam site and it doesn't pretend to be.

There's no free show tier here.

The moment you step into a model's room - which requires credits - the meter is running. If you cut your teeth on Chaturbate or StripChat - where the public chat is a free-for-all and the private is the upsell... IsLive will feel like the world turned upside down.

When you land on the site, you might be under the impression that you can at least sample some live action.

Hover over a thumbnail and you'll get a teaser clip that looks for all the world like a live feed. It isn't. It's prerecorded... a slick little showreel built to get you through the door. Click it and you land on a static intro page, where the only way to see anything live is to start spending.

Public & Private Shows

One of the weird quirks of this setup is that public shows are nearly identical to private shows.

Every standard show runs at a flat 60 credits per minute - roughly €0.83 (depending on how many credits you purchased - bulk buys lowers the cost) - and that rate is identical whether you're in Public or Private mode. Every model on the site charges it.

Peek vs Chat

On one hand, we like the simplicity of knowing exactly what a show is going to cost, but we'd argue that removing the ability for models to set custom rates is one of the primary reasons why the number of models broadcasting here remains low.

So what separates Public from Private? Only this: who gets to read your messages.

In Public mode, your chat is visible to everyone else in the room... and there can be plenty of others, all watching the same feed, all paying their own 60 credits a minute. Flip to Private and the show doesn't change one bit. The only difference is that your messages now go to the model alone.

You're still sharing her with a paying crowd, unless you choose the "premium" private option...

1-on-1 VIP Shows

Want her to yourself?

That'll cost you four times as much.

The 1-on-1 VIP mode is the only exclusive option on the site, and it's priced to match: 240 credits per minute, or around €3.32. Request it, wait for her to accept, and everyone else gets booted out with a notification that she's gone private. It's the show most users assume they're getting when they hit "Private"... but in practice, you'll be paying a premium for truly private one-on-one time.

Cam2Cam

A rare, unqualified win.

Cam2Cam is bundled in at no extra cost. If a model offers it, you can switch on your own webcam in Public, Private or VIP mode without paying a cent more.

That's a better deal than Euro-rivals like XCams, where two-way cam is locked behind the pricey VIP tier, and a world away from StripChat, where flipping your cam on can triple the per-minute rate.

Group Shows

Don't get excited. There aren't any ways to make big savings on group shows - not in the sense you're hoping for.

IsLive's "group chat" is just Public mode wearing a different hat: several users in one room, each paying the full 60 credits a minute.

It's basically multiple private shows happening simultaneously with the same model.

Voyeur / Spy Shows

Normally, a voyeur mode - watching someone else's show without interacting - only makes sense if it's cheaper than joining in, right?

But since IsLive's Public and Private rates are already identical, and nothing is truly exclusive until VIP, there's no discounted vantage point to buy.

Spying here just means sitting in a paid room with no intention of actually chatting. You can do it if you want... but most of the register customers are here for an intimate connection.

So, to summarise, the paid private shows are certainly cheap by industry standards, but IsLive loses hard for having zero free content as a means of getting the party started. You'll end up spending credits cycling through multiple shows just to find one you want to stick with.

04

Streaming Quality

6.0 / 10

A quick caveat for our streaming analysis: IsLive made this a hard section to test.

With no free shows and every room behind the meter, we could only assess a handful of streams ("excuse me darling, just busting out Dev Tools...") - and only in paid private mode. So treat this as a representative read rather than the precise measurement we'd usually be able to gather.

That said... what we saw from the video quality was perfectly respectable. Streams ran smooth and stable, with none of the buffering or freezing that plagues the cheaper end of the market. We couldn't pin down an exact bitrate - but to the naked eye we'd put it squarely mid-table. Comfortably watchable.

That mid-tier ceiling makes sense once you remember what IsLive is. This is an amateur roster filming from home, and the quality is about what you'd expect... clean enough from the Dutch and Western European broadband connections, but built on bedroom webcams, not fancy OBS rigs and ring-lit studios.

We went digging through the model recruitment documentation and found some minimum requirements that back this up: performers are encouraged to ensure a minimum camera spec of 1.3 megapixels, >25 fps, and >15 Mbps upload, preferably wired... a baseline that supports decent but not necessarily top-tier 1080p/4K HD.

One other thing we noted: there's no resolution switching. You can't drop a stream to 480p or 240p if your connection is struggling. But then IsLive's European-heavy audience will rarely need to.

Overall, from what we sampled, no real complaints here.

05

Site Design

4.0 / 10

OK, so if we're being honest, IsLive looks every one of its twenty-odd years.

This is a functional site, not a modern glossy cam platform.

There's no modern discovery feed, no slick scroll, no sense that anyone has split-tested a layout this decade. You get a grid of thumbnails and a stubby menu, and that's basically the whole experience.

Some of the juggernauts in the space are designed to spike your dopamine with every page load, but IsLive feels anything but. It's just a simple directory that happens to sell cam shows.

The clearest tell is the menu, which someone forgot to translate...

Flip the site to English and the categories stubbornly stay in Dutch: All, Studentes, Slank, Dik, Ebony, Toys. Six tabs, half of them in a language the English-language user can't read.

Which sets up our favourite blunder on the entire site. Dik is Dutch for "thick." So picture a Western visitor, site set to English, clicking a mystery tab marked "Dik" and bracing for… well, something rather different to the curvy Dutch ladies he's about to meet. It's weird to have English and Dutch versions of the site if you're not going to translate the all-important primary navigation.

We also dislike that there's no filtering system underneath them. No age slider, no body-type targeting, no fetish menu, and effectively no way to narrow by anything beyond those handful of presets.

Worse, with so few models actually live, the tabs barely do anything.

Click between All and Slank and Ebony and you're mostly just reshuffling the same top spots - the same handful of shows keep getting spotlighted under different headings. It's the illusion of choice over a very small pool. And if we had to guess, this is probably why IsLive has not really invested in a UX overhaul.

The number of models available consistently hovers around the 50/60 mark, so they're basically scrollable in a single visit.

The bigger structural problem is the lack of live previews. As we covered in Live Shows, those hover-clips are prerecorded - so the homepage feels live on your first visit, but never evolves. There's no free chat to peek into so the short clips are your only guidance of whether a show is worth spending credits to peek.

For a site whose entire pitch is live interaction, the storefront feels oddly inert.... a wall of static portraits behind a paywall.

We'll credit the fact that the simplicity makes for a fairly straightforward experience. Nothing is buried, and a newcomer won't get lost - there's simply not enough here to get lost in.

Live Chat UX

When you click through to a model, you're greeted with a simple promo photo of the performer (likely a recent screen capture) and the show neatly displays the paid viewing options.

All very simple and clean:

Livechat UX

You can scroll sideways between performers, until you find one that captures your attention enough to start spending credits.

The actual chat is clean and minimalistic. There's rarely more than 3-4 viewers watching at any given time, so you're not going to be faced with the walls of spam that litter most freemium sites.

06

Mobile UX

5.0 / 10

The mobile site is fine.

The desktop layout translates cleanly to a phone: the same thumbnail grid, the same stubby menu, and everything where you'd expect it to be. Nothing is mangled and the whole thing loads without fuss.

If you can live with the desktop site's limitations - and by now you know the big one, no filtering /previews- then the mobile version serves up the available models perfectly well.

Mobile ISLive

The "NL" denotes primary language spoken, while models with toys in the top right of their thumbnail (around half of them) have an active Lovense connection that can be triggered with tips.

Tap into a stream and the video takes the foreground without the chat window hogging half the screen, which is more than a lot of cam sites manage on mobile.

From what we saw... most of the models aren't on mobile. They're on desktop.

If we look at the teaser clips, roughly three-quarters were filmed on a computer but a quarter were in the vertical, phone-shot format - this is despite ClubISLive's own model documentation suggesting mobile broadcasting simply isn't supported yet:

Mobile streaming note from ClubIsLive

What we saw directly contradicts this limitation, even if it's true that most of the models are still using a conventional laptop-cam-pointing-at-bed setup.

Our best guess is that mobile streaming will continue to edge up on IsLive, but it's not what we'd describe as a 'mobile-first' camming platform.

07

Features

3.0 / 10

IsLive has sat out most of the modern cam-site arms race. We took a look at the site through the years via Wayback Machine and... not much has changed.

That also applies to what a cam site fan would deem the 'extra features'.

You certainly won't find VR cams anywhere on the platform, and there's none of the subscription-tier gimmickry that other sites use to keep whales hooked. What IsLive offers instead is a short, old-fashioned toolkit - one piece of which, to its credit, it handles rather well.

Interactive Toys (FeelConnect)

It's not cheap to activate toys, but it's super easy.

Toy control runs through the FeelConnect app, and adoption among the models is high. More than half the shows we browsed had a toy switched on, marked by a little pink icon on the thumbnail. Look at the top 20 featured performers and that figure jumps to 90%.

Enough to suggest to us that the toys clearly earn their keep here - for the models, at least.

But... the pricing.

Toy activation starts at a 5-second buzz for around €0.83, which is steep money for a brief jolt. Compare it to our top-rated interactive platforms, where a model can set escalating thresholds - a quick flutter for loose change, a minute-long earthquake for a proper tip - and IsLive's entry point looks pretty expensive.

Amateur.tv also offers 5-second tip activations, but from just $0.10...

Phone Billing (BelIsLive)

This is a throwback, but also a sign of the Dutch viewing preferences...

Pay by phone

IsLive still runs a paid phone-sex option: ring a model, have the call billed discreetly, with no account or webcam needed at your end. It's a feature that's all but extinct on modern platforms, and yet it fits IsLive's vintage 'directory of filthy chat' gimmick like a glove.

Threadbare Profiles

We think it's fair to say that IsLive's attempts to 'social-networkify' the site have been pretty primitive. At best.

Step away from the live grid and there's barely anything to explore.

A model profile carries an optional photo set and a thin bio, and that's about the size of it:

Basic profile on IsLive

The deeper problem is that the bio is close to useless anyway - with no site-wide search or filtering, there's nothing you can actually do with what you read. By the time you've opened a profile, the thumbnail has already told you everything it was going to. It amounts to information you can't act on, attached to models you couldn't have searched for in the first place.

Models have no option to sell VOD content (or gallery sets). So the site feels like a bit of a one trick pony compared to other platforms that have diversified beyond selling cam shows.

08

Value For Money

7.0 / 10

When we talk about our Action-to-Spend ratio, we mean two things: how much you can watch without reaching for your wallet, and how badly it stings once you do.

IsLive splits the difference.

It fails the first test outright and passes the second with flying colours.

On the free side, there's simply nothing to weigh here. No public nudity, not even a live thumbnail to preview - every bit of action sits behind the paywall. So... that sucks. And for a sizeable chunk of cam users, that alone is disqualifying.

But not everybody is a cheap freeloader, right?!

And once youre actually paying, the picture brightens considerably.

The flat 60-credits-a-minute rate works out cheap, and the maths rewards anyone buying credits in bulk. At the smallest package, a minute of show costs around €1.06; at the largest, that same minute drops to roughly €0.53. The credits stretch further the more you commit, which is a sort of volume discount, even if working out the true per-minute cost takes a calculator:

Billing options

Let's pin it to a realistic figure and the average punter - buying the "most popular" package - pays about €0.83 a minute. That's pretty damn competitive. It earns IsLive a place in the top ten of our cheapest private shows tracker, at least on lowest entry price, though both Chaturbate and StripChat still slip in under it at the very bottom.

As mentioned above, though, any use of interactive toys is expensive compared to what rivals are offering:

Toy tips

50 seconds for €8.33? We're not sure if this will get many takers... beyond Flemish Whales.

09

Payment Options

5.0 / 10

The true cost of an IsLive credit depends on how many you buy.

Same story we tell on nearly every cam site... and yes, it's the same mild headache.

Across the packages, a single minute of show runs from about €1.06 at the cheapest tier down to roughly €0.53 at the largest. The more you front, the more each credit stretches.

It's a respectable discount in principle, but the denominations are awkward to hold in your head, and there's no clean mental shortcut for what you're actually spending per minute. We much prefer a decimal or base-10 system.

Credit to IsLive on one point, though: the bundles hold steady across payment methods. Whether you reach for a card, iDEAL or Paysafecard, the credits-for-cash maths is consistent across the board.

The full list of payment methods includes:

  • iDEAL

  • Bancontact

  • Paysafecard

  • credit/debit cards (Visa + Mastercard)

  • EPS

  • Blik

Checkout Process... In Dutch?

We've already touched on the site's mash-mash attempt at translating Dutch into English (after selecting English).

Yes, the primary navigation is stuck in Dutch, but there's a bigger offender: the checkout page.

For a platform actively courting an international audience, sending non-Dutch users into a payment flow with random bits they can't read is a real own goal.

Discreet Billing

IsLive claims to have discreet billing, but our half-arsed attempt at sleuthing uncovered obvious links between their billing company and "webcam streaming".

Discreet billing

Our verdict: partially discreet.

Refund Policy

IsLive does have a refund policy. Albeit, not a particularly generous one - in fact, it opens by quietly taking something off you.

Tucked into the terms is a clause where, merely by signing up, you waive the standard EU 14-day cooling-off right on anything you buy. From there the screws tighten. A cash refund is only ever on the table if a credit package sits completely untouched; spend one solitary credit and the cash option vanishes. Once you've dipped in, the best you can hope for is a credit refund of whatever's left over - money back simply isn't a thing.

And anything you've sunk into tips, messages or video calls? Write it off now.

There's a clock running, too: complaints have to be lodged within 24 hours of whatever went wrong, after which IsLive will only hear you out in cases of force majeure.

In reality, best to treat every credit as spent the moment it leaves your card.

10

Conclusion

IsLive is a hard site to score, because nearly everything that makes it likeable is also what holds it back from the top table.

Nowhere else we've tested serves up this density of Dutch and Flemish models - they are not studio imports playing dress-up as locals, but home-grown amateurs broadcasting from their actual bedrooms.

If that's the fantasy you're after, IsLive is close to one-of-a-kind.

The mature-friendly roster is a bonus on top (if you're looking for a more intimate connection).

Step outside that lane, though, and the cracks open fast. There's no free content, so the wallet's out before you've seen anything. The interface is stuck in the past... and in some bizarre ways that would take literally ten minutes to fix.

Working in IsLive's favour: the flat rate is cheap, cam2cam is a welcome freebie, and the toys are well adopted across the board. Oh, and those Dutch girls are pretty hot!

Honestly, this is a platform that has staked its entire identity on a single act - the solo Dutch amateur - and it's been pretty successful in doing so. It might be tunnel vision, but it's kept the regulars coming back for over twenty years. 🇳🇱🍆
