To answer your questions...
As you said, the MFC models make the bulk of their income from public shows. The goal is to generate a large audience where even a small minority of tipping customers can vastly outweigh the amount she will earn from a 1-on-1 show.
Likewise, I don't understand why they would charge as high as $6 per minute when other platforms clearly manage to offer both free + low-cost shows. And it doesn't seem to affect their brands.
The bigger issue (which we noted in our review) is that fixing the floor price so high creates a lot of inefficiencies on MFC. The girls who can't compete for eyeballs in the free shows are incentivised to use other platforms with flexible private pricing instead. And hey... that's exactly what they do. It's one of the reasons why sites like StripChat and Chaturbate are still growing while MFC has been spinning wheels.
On Jerkmate and Streamate: Jerkmate is a white-label of Streamate, but while this relationship means they share the same models, white-labels are able to set their own price points.
Jerkmate does a TON of advertising (as I'm sure you've seen!) targeting users who have never even heard of Streamate. It uses a higher price point to offset some of this cost.
To be fair, Jerkmate has expanded their platform beyond the basic Streamate database, but you're right... the same white-label shows will always be cheaper via Streamate.

(1) The lowest cost per minute is the absolute cheapest shows we were able to find, typically by sourcing models who are new to the platform or who broadcast from countries where the cost of living is much lower.
(2) The average rates is a more practical guideline of what you should expect to pay per minute for the majority of performers on the site. Some will charge less, some will charge more - but most will be in this range.

Key Assumptions
Most cam sites use virtual currency as their primary means of paying for shows.
For example, you don't pay for private shows on Chaturbate in USD. You buy tokens by depositing fiat currency. How many tokens you receive is dependent on how many you buy (in bulk).
Our lowest cost per minute will vary depending on the size of the package you buy and how steep the tokens are discounted. In this example, we've chosen the most popular package size to benchmark our figures.
International users may end up paying more since cam sites have varying fees on currency conversion.
In most cases, US users paying in USD will get the best deal.
There are a few exceptions to this rule. Some of the European cam sites (like XCams) charge in Euros, and it will be more cost effective to buy tokens in Euros from inside Europe.
It's even harder for us to calculate the true cheapest shows if you are paying in Crypto. Some sites offer extra tokens for funding via Crypto, others charge a premium.

First of all, thank you for the useful list. Not easy to find accurate statistics on this, so good work!
My question is why does MyFreeCams charge the highest rate on the list when it's got 'free' in the brand name? Surely this is just bad marketing on their part? I get that not all of the shows are paywalled, but it seems really dumb to price your headline shows above ALL of the rival sites, including other free platforms. Is it because the girls on MFC are that much more selective when they can earn well in the public rooms?
Another questions. Streamate and Jerkmate use the same database but they have different pricing. Jerkmate is much more expensive. Why would anybody choose Jerkmate when the experience is (in theory) the same?
