Cams.com is run by the same company behind AdultFriendFinder.
Just like their adult dating site, you'll have to bust out your wallet for any of the good stuff.
The private show rates are acceptable, slightly higher than average, but there's nothing about Cams.com that blows us away.
It's clean and intuitive to use, but lacking any innovative features: average models, average shows, average everything.
Streamate, LiveJasmin and Flirt4Free are all several steps ahead.

With such an iconic domain, you’d hope that Cams.com would be a polished, professional destination worthy of praise – the actual story here isn’t quite as rosy.
It’s not a terrible destination for live action, but Cams.com has had many years to catch up with the sites that have long since overtaken it – for some reason, they’re reluctant to change.
There are rules here regarding what girls can do in free chat mode: if you’re someone that’s not looking to pay but you still want action, don’t waste your time.
It’s difficult to find information about Cams.com, its history, ownership and development over the years.
What we do know is that the same company behind AFF also handle some elements and aspects of Cams.com – it’s smoke and mirrors for the most part.
Women, men and trans girls are all allowed to put on shows, but there’s a clear bias toward ladies.
We did find a couple of couples, but unlike the other three options, there’s no category that you can visit to see guys and girls having fun with one another.
When we visited around noon CET, there were 311 available cam shows. There are a couple of spots we’ve reviewed with a lower number, but this is still on the low side of things.
Unsurprisingly, women here are make the vast majority of performers.
286 live cams starred ladies – that’s over 90% of the available streams.
We did our best to find any trend or element that was non-standard or worth honing in on: it’s relatively stock standard with regard to demographics.
If we had to point to anything, the ethnic variety would likely be it: there were 25 Asians, 26 ebonies and 100 Latinas online when we visited. This wasn’t peak hours for South American women either, so they’re a real mainstay of the talent pool.
Colombia is the number one supplier of babes to Cams.com.
You can filter by age: 222 girls were between 18 and 29. We think that it would be better for there to be a category that covers 18 to 21 and then 21 to 29: lots of guys love younger chicks, so put the teens together and make us visitors happy!
Most of the girls here are pretty seasoned – we noticed that quite a lot of them stream on other platforms too, so they’re the types to have a good streaming setup. Large beds with lots of pillows, wireless keyboards and mice – that type of thing.
There were only five guys online when we visited – slim pickings is an understatement.
All of the guys here appear to be gay: one was an older daddy, the rest were South American twinks.
If you check in throughout the day, you might come across some muscly studs, jocks and bears. Truth be told, we’d recommend you go elsewhere to watch dudes stream.
The site has a slightly better picture when it comes to trans women, though not by much. 25 cams in total, though production value is quite good – these T-girls were hot and ready to get down to business. Most were Latina or Asian – we didn’t spot a single ebony trans girl.
It was quite clear that most of the trans camgirls here have been in the industry for quite some time: only one was tagged under the ‘new’ section.
The trans babes at Cams.com seem to stream multiple days per week and know what they’re about.
Although the numbers are low, this is one area that’s almost competitive.
Couples are allowed to stream together on Cams.com – we only found a single choice, and there’s no section to find couples specifically.
We can’t recommend this hub for couple sex cam shows.
There are rules that models here have to follow – at least, on paper.
We saw a few that seemed to cross the line once or twice, but they might be risking a ban for doing so.
At the very least, what’s allowed and what’s not isn’t too clear, and/or it’s not enforced entirely. Regardless of what the deal is on that front: the end result is that the free user environment here is essentially non-existent.
If you don’t want to spend money, Cams.com has nothing for you.
You don’t need an account to check out girls who are in free chat mode, but there’s not much going on in these areas – except for a lot of teasing.
See, if a camgirl is in free chat mode, she’s prohibited from below the belt nudity. There are a few other webcam platforms that have strict rules when it comes to nudity, and the end result is that it ends up being an area for you to get a small sample of what’s on offer before paying for a private session.
Camgirls can technically do something called tipping chat, which allows them to get naked in a non-private mode, but we didn’t see a single show that reached its tipping goal during our review.
If you do find a girl you’re willing to pay cash money to see get nude and masturbate for you, private chat is the best option.
You’ll pay a per-minute rate with tokens: the show above is 30 for 1-on-1 action.
Others can join in on your private session as voyeurs, but they cannot interact with the model if they opt to do this. Voyeurs won’t have access to audio – just the video feed.
Girls tend to charge anywhere from 25 to 50 tokens per minute. You’re looking at around $1 for 10 tokens, so expect to pay $2.5 through to $5 per minute. We wouldn’t say this is a high rate, but it’s certainly not a rock bottom price either.
Like many things regarding Cams.com, it’s middle of the pack.
If you want to turn on your webcam, you’ll have to pay extra. We appreciate that it’s offered, but most people will want it thrown in for free.
You’ll pay a little more, but no one will be able to spy on what’s going on. We don’t think too many people utilize the voyeur feature on Cams.com anyway, mainly because they don’t get audio with the video.
Models set their rates for exclusive and private: it’s often about 10% to 25% more expensive.
You can tune into a show that’s private if you want – the same details as above: no audio, just the video. Voyeur rates are typically lower than the private rate, but you’re not controlling the action. Since there’s no audio, this is quite a bit worse than other platforms and their voyeur offerings.
Camgirls tend to have a party show rate that’s a little lower than a private session: multiple people can join, have access to the audio and most importantly, talk via the chat.
You might opt to go down this road in order to save a few credits, but just remember that others can join at any time – if you want a private show, pick the private show option!
Party shows are relatively uncommon, but we did see a few while we were here.
Some girls here do output 720p with acceptable bitrates, but that’s the upper limit.
Rivals these days – especially the ones we give lots of praise to – tend to offer 1080p.
As you go further down the site’s available camgirls, you’ll notice that quality gets gradually decreases. Some girls here – especially first-timers – are running shows in 480p. The bitrate is surprisingly high for 480p shows, but it’s still something that doesn’t really work in the modern age of live sex.
You also cannot pick stream quality: it’s one size fits all.
There’s an icon that sometimes switches from HD to SD and the quality decreases – this is all out of your control, and it can be frustrating. In previous visits, we’ve had issues with quality switching back and forth – for our follow-up review it was noticeably better.
Some camgirls here are clearly pros – we can tell that a few are streaming multiple platforms too.
We noticed tip amounts to activate toys from other services, as well as reactions to chat messages that weren’t present on Cams.com.
This isn’t a huge issue, but if those places offer these camgirls in 1080p, why would you opt to watch girls perform here?
The homepage has preview thumbnails of the live streams, except it does show uploaded images that models have provided if they’re in private sessions.
There are reasonable filtering options on the left-hand side of the website: you can select multiple at once too. Want to find a Latina with tattoos who’s between the ages of 18 and 29?
That can be done.
You cannot sort the models based on any metrics: it seems to organize them based on popularity and historical success, so the best of the best are at the top.
We’d like to see options to sort by time online and private show rates – come to think of it, there’s no way to see private rates until you go into each camgirl’s stream, and that does suck.
Manually checking each performer to see if they’re within your budget must get old fast.
Not too complicated, a relatively clean chat area, options to go full-screen, a few bonus videos and photos – although Cams.com suffers in a lot of respects, we don’t think there’s much left to be desired here when it comes to the chat room setup and display.
There’s a direct ‘buzz sex toy’ button too: it’s expensive in most cases, but it’s nice that they have in-built functionality for OhMiBod and Lovense activation.
Full-screen turns the chat translucent and keeps the buttons at the bottom to turn on your cam, enter into private chat and send tokens over.
Credit where credit’s due: the scale of the chat interface, interactive features and text were all spot on.
First impressions matter – we want immediate accessibility from any mobile cam portal.
Here’s what you get on the Cams.com mobile homepage:
Not too bad – there’s a very small advert for buying tokens, but the rest of the screen’s real estate is devoted to showing you available feeds.
The biggest issue is that instead of a cam show preview, they use the images models provide – we’re not fans of this approach, and sadly, there’s no way to make it work as it does on desktop.
When you watch a stream, you can opt to zoom in on a particular region and relocate the focus – this ensures that horizontal camgirls still look good when you’re holding your device vertically.
The platform is responsive when you turn your mobile sideways, but there’s no true fullscreen. The solution it does have is fine – it could just be a tad bit better.
You also can’t disable chat, which can be annoying, since messages do not disappear over time.
You’ll be time gated on mobile if you don’t create an account: after about 5 minutes, you’re pestered to create an account.
A couple of value adds are available here, let’s take a look at them in detail.
You can activate OhMiBod and Lovense devices with the single push of a button – rates vary from 5 through to 30 tokens.
This is half a dollar through to three bucks – pretty steep. If you click on the stream, you’ll send a shorter buzz. Embedded functionality for sex toys is great, but more details would be nice.
Stream overlays on other websites tell you how intense the buzz will be and how long it’ll last for at each tipping level – Cams.com has already done the hard work of hooking up the toys directly to their platform.
We don’t think it’d be too much harder to go just that little bit further and make this a real selling point.
Some girls have recorded shows and various clips available for purchase.
This is an optional feature, but quite a lot of the performers here have these as an option. 50 tokens – five dollars – was about the going rate for a 10 to 15 minute video. It doesn’t appear as if models can budge on this price point – we looked at a dozen different performers and they were all 50 tokens.
The longest video we saw was 35 minutes though, so if you shop around, you might get a great scene from one of your favorite girls.
For $20 per month, you can sign up for a premiere membership.
Live shows cost 10% fewer tokens, you’ll get unlimited access to all model videos and an visual representation of your membership in chat (models may pay more attention to you as a result).
If you sign up for three months in advance, it lowers the cost to just $14 per month instead. If you plan to be a bit of a power user on Cams.com, it’s definitely worth picking up.
Given the fact that there’s essentially zero free action here, this figure is going to pale in comparison to spots such as Chaturbate and Bonga Cams.
If you’re only looking to drop a few dollars here and there per week on cam shows, there are better places for you to visit.
Model rates are acceptable, but that’s about it.
One of the biggest problems with analysis in this regard is that there aren’t filtering options based on private rates – you have to check out each camgirl’s profile individually to find out how much they charge.
It’s annoying and cumbersome: surely we have the technology to fix this issue?
If the platform was more conducive toward free shows we’d understand, but this is their main revenue model, you’d think they’d make it as good as possible.
Really restrictive – credit and debit card are the main way to fund your account, with eVouchers as the only other alternative.
eVouchers are managed through a third-party called CashtoCode: you can buy these from a few different stores in different parts of the world. It’s a more obscure paysafecard, which is already pretty obscure.
We’d love for Cams.com to offer cryptocurrency and PayPal as options. These are provided by most competitors.
Here are some token packages for USD:
You get a very marginal discount when buying in bulk.
One thing we will praise Cams.com for was giving us a competitive exchange rate when buying tokens using AUD.
We’ve called out rivals for charging 5% and beyond to manage the currency conversion for you (an extra way to make some profit): we got the mid-market rate here.
Looking over the terms of service and help pages didn’t yield any results: Cams.com has no refund information anywhere. It’s safe to say that they offer no refunds – don’t charge your account with funds if you’re not ready to commit.
Our bill included the phrase (S*****ray), which a very quick Google turned into a positive result for this very website. Although the billing code itself wasn’t Cams.com, it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out what this transaction was for.
Not discreet.
Cams.com has a decent core talent pool, some toy integration, support for high bitrates and a few other things going for them – but that doesn’t make up for the lack of free shows, limited payment options and average filtering tools.
Given the options available elsewhere, we're struggling to see why Cams.com would be anybody's #1 for live sex.

Available in all chat modes; costs around $1 per minute to activate.
No free nudity. Camgirls are prohibited from below the belt nudity in free chat mode.
No VR shows available.
Slim pickings for fetish fans - the only remotely kinky tag accessible is 'foot fetish'.
From the 286 cams we saw online, just over 10% had performers in the 40+ bracket.
There were only five guys online when we visited.
We saw 25 TS cams in total. Limited choice but production value is decent.
Couples are allowed to stream together on Cams.com – but we only found one couple online.
