The premise was simple. Load up your camera and randomly match to complete strangers. Cam sites have been trying to ride this trend to the bank ever since, but it has proven notoriously difficult to execute well.

Jerkmate is famous for its roulette-style approach to 'finding your jerk partner'. The homepage contains a random stream and the option to select what you're looking for, and have a stream randomly served up based on your criteria.
While this is a novel approach to browsing through their database, it's a massive departure from the "ChatRoulette" gimmick and simply doesn't work in a meaningful way. The algorithm is too simplistic to be effective. We found ourselves resorting to the category and tag filtering to find appealing shows.
