XLoveCam Review

XLoveCam launched way back in 2006 and has functioned well for almost two decades, providing visitors with access to European and South American camgirls as a priority.

You’re welcome here no matter where you are in the world, but those in Europe are likely to have the best time, simply because of time zones. We’re not kidding when we say that most of the talent here resides in the EU, though there are some Latinas who play while the European girls are sleeping.

XLoveCam received its first accolade in 2015 at the LiveCam Awards, taking home ‘Best European Live Cam Site’. 

At the 2024 ceremony, they took the very same title – the only two times that they’ve won this particular award.

We encountered a total of 393 active streams during our review, spread across females, males, couples and trans girls. 

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that ladies here are the most popular, with trans performers and couples having a smaller, but acceptable, presence on the platform. There are barely any guys here. 

For most, that’s not going to matter, but if you care about the quantity of dudes on the cam site you visit, steer clear of XLoveCam: just 4 males were available when we visited.

Total quantity here is acceptable, but definitely on the lower end of the scale. Several rivals have thousands of live girls at any one time. During prime periods (evening CET), you can find upwards of 700 performers. Other places suffer less with fluctuations in available cammers.

Some ladies put a lot of effort in – others a little more amateur. This might sound silly, but the environment is average – that’s not a bad thing, because we’re comparing the girls here to their peers across other platforms. 

Most of the ladies are on their beds and using remote peripherals to chat and manage their shows, though if you scroll down far enough, you’ll see fresh girls using laptops or just on their PCs.

Female Models

We counted 340 out of the 393 live shows were solo female performers – that’s over 85%. We’re not sold on the categorization though, take a look:

You’ve got four categories here: young women, ladies, mature female and fetish female. 

You can select multiple options at once, so it’s possible to see all of the female performers – but that’s four clicks. We prefer a more traditional approach: offer the gender, then put the ages elsewhere. Spots like BongaCams and MyDirtyHobby have sliders to define lower and upper bounds, far superior.

Other meta categories here include ethnic category, body type, hair color and rates. You can also pick from a range of supported languages: English was #1, followed by French, Spanish and then Italian. Outside of Europe, the majority of camgirls are from Colombia. 

There are a few ebony and Asian camgirls here, but they pale in comparison to the European and Latina contingencies.

At around 3 a.m. CET, the site flips from being dominated by European camgirls to Latinas taking over. 

We’d argue that if you’re in NA and you love girls from South America, this might be a great time for you to go hunting for some camming action. Though there’s nothing particularly unique about XLoveCams’ provision of Colombian camgirls: they’re on pretty much every platform out there in large numbers.

Male Models

The market on most platforms is already pretty limited, but we found just 4 dudes online when we visited – that’s nowhere near enough to justify visiting if you’re a gay man who’s only interested in other guys. It’s pretty hard to infer any theme here: you’ll see South American twinks, hairy daddies, muscly black guys and femboys. 

The streams don’t have high production values – it’s mainly dudes at their desks just jerking off.

Trans Performers

The second largest category on XLoveCam: there were 40 trans girls online when we visited, which is a better female:trans ratio than we’re used to seeing on a cam platform.

There’s a small bias toward couple shows here – quite a few trans girls stream with a co-star, either another trans partner or a cis male. There were 4 trans couple streams available, with a few more visible offline. 

The trans camgirls tend to be from Colombia, but Europeans are also available during peak periods. We also spotted a few from the Philippines.

Couples

17 shows with men and women, 3 with just women (they’re in a separate lesbian category). 

You’ll typically find a single guy with a girl, but bigger groups also appear from time to time. Somewhat confusingly, a larger group of all women appeared in the couples area – but not in the lesbian section. We think that these two areas should just be merged if these types of things happen.

The couple shows here are quite amateur in nature – demand is lower than it is for solo women, and it appears to be genuine lovers getting it on together: no pros working with one another just for the money. 

We like grabbing objective metrics for stream quality where we can. With XLoveCam – it was a royal pain. 

They seem to use three different streaming delivery approaches, and they chop and change at random depending on whether the window is active, the size of your monitor and so on. Here’s one sample we managed to grab:

Note that this isn’t representative of the entire experience – this is a pretty low quality stream, but on average, XLoveCam isn’t outputting 1080p shows. 

A few camgirls here are clearly streaming in a high resolution, but others are using lower quality gear, or they don’t have their rendering settings dialed in. There’s also no way to change qualities: it’s a one size fits all approach.

From time to time, the stream will reload, pause for a few seconds and give you a lower quality render. After quite a bit of testing, we think we’ve worked out what’s happening: if you don’t have the window active (you’ve clicked on another tab, or you’re opening up Discord, or whatever), it’ll switch over to a much lower resolution.

The behavior is inconsistent and it doesn’t always do this, but we think they’re trying to save bandwidth. Other sites such as Twitch.tv do this.

Owing to the tech issues, inability to switch formats and so on – we’re going to rate the stream quality here as about average. It can be good, but most of the time, it’s merely acceptable.

XLoveCam gets a couple of bonus points right off the bat for moving in to VR cams. 

While the selection is minimal, we're delighted to see a platform other than StripChat targeting this market.

Interactive Sex Toys

The biggest thing holding back the toys here on XLoveCam are the costs associated with activating them. 

Around 25% of performers had toy integration – below average, but acceptable. If you go to websites like BongaCams and Chaturbate, you’re going to be able to activate devices for just a few cents: at XLoveCam, you’ve got three options for activating devices:

That’s literally it. 

Low, medium and high – no other choices, plus the price points are pretty static across the board. We think there’s a floor price of $1.07 for activation (which is 1 Euro), and then the other levels have to be a multiple of that. Most girls have 1, 3 and 5 Euros as their levels.

What’s annoying is that they’ve got an embedded feature here to show you toy activation rates and the costs – it’s just too expensive to utilize to any serious degree, and with just three options, the models don’t have much wiggle room with gamifying the situation.

Not to be boring, but it’s pretty simple economics that a model is going to do whatever she can to maximize her income via toy activation – so let them dictate the levels, prices and number of options available.

Media

There’s a media section on XLoveCam: it’s populated with free and VIP videos. You spend VIP credits to buy the videos – it’s a silly system and complicates things. The content here is mostly short clips from shows on the platform, so it’s like watching back past performances. 

Overall quality leaves quite a bit to be desired here: very little effort goes into these uploads, but if your favorite performer is offline, you might be able to derive some pleasure from coming here.

Firstly, the filtering options are good here – we really dig the fact that you can select multiple options at once. If you want to find skinny Latinas, MILFs who charge $2.00 – $3.00 per minute or Dutch speaking teens, you can select all of these options. 

We’d like to see better management of age ranges, but things are pretty good as-is.

What’s more, you’ve got a lot of options for sorting: cam rank, total loves, highest ratings, newest online, per-minute rates and so on. XLoveCam has more sorting options than any other camming platform out there.

By default, streams are represented by images provided by the camgirls – typically fancy glamor shots with great lighting, slight editing and the like. 

If you scroll down to the bottom of the sidebar, you can toggle to cam preview – we think this is the superior way to show streams. You can also change the display size of thumbnails and enable more categories, including weight, height and hair length.

Our biggest complaint is the lack of auto playing thumbnails. You can mouse over them to get a preview of the live stream, but the frame rate is pretty low. If XLoveCam fixed this up, it could very well be the best designed site from the perspective of finding and filtering models.

The default ordering of cams is by Cam Rank score (not to be confused with our own ratings!). This is based on a model's ability to attract unique users who return and spend over several days. The better she performs, the higher she appears on the page. 

Live Chat UX

Oh boy, here we go.

There’s zero reason for this meta information to be so large and included in the chat area – especially when the chat messages are tiny in comparison. 

Chat isn’t that clear either: if a model types multiple messages, they’re bundled under her name, and user messages are displayed on the other side of the chat box, so it’s an absolute mess to read.

Models also tend to click your name before sending a message to, but this is followed by a colon, so for new users, it can make it seem as if the user is typing that message, not the camgirl. 

Overall, the chat area here is confusing, poorly scaled and lacking polish.

The streaming area itself is okay, but the constant refreshing and reloading is an absolute pain – especially when it goes from giving you a good quality to a low quality. 

XLoveCam would be so much better if you could force a quality instead of the site chopping and changing every 30 seconds.

If you’re in the EU, you’ll pay with Euros – for those elsewhere, the site seems to default to USD. 

We’re critical when platforms overcharge foreign users and that’s the case here at XLoveCam – here are the prices we received when spending AUD on USD:

Current exchange rates put $100 AUD at $65.2 USD, so we’re losing out on $6.75 USD for XLoveCam to exchange the currency for us – that’s 10% over the mid-market rate. We’d like the option to let our bank handle the fee, since they’d charge us a lot less (especially TransferWise, which we could just pay in USD directly with).

XLoveCam offers the following payment methods:

• Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Electron)
• PayPal
• paysafecard
• Cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and more)
• Poli bank transfer
• SEPA bank transfer

Options available to you will depend on where you’re located. Using some of these methods results in quite the loss of funds: $100 of paysafecard results in $89 of credits. $100 of crypto turns into $95 – we’re not fans of this.

Refund Policy

We looked through the website’s FAQ section and terms of service – there was nothing that pointed toward a refund policy. Generally speaking, if you’ve spent credits – they’re gone. You might be able to get a refund on a full purchase in some circumstances, but don’t count on it. Still, we’d like clarification from XLoveCam regarding their policy.

Discreet Billing

When we made a purchase, there was a semi non-discreet line on our statement.

One of the first things that pops up when you Google this phrase with the word ‘bill’ is an article that starts with the words ‘porn firm’: although you can glance at the purchase and not notice anything funny, any spouse with access to a search engine is going to work out what’s going on.

We think it’s fair to say that XLoveCam’s billing is partially-discreet.

What we want to see from mobile platforms are immediate previews and minimal advertising, here’s what XLoveCam presents when you visit it on a modern iPhone:

7 clear previews and a small advert – it’s a shame that these are images and not live show previews. You can switch it like on the desktop platform, but it’ll prompt you to sign up. It appears that mobile users who wish to filter will need to create an account first.

Watching shows is free and the quality is pretty decent, but the same issue on desktop: feeds refresh and in some instances, pause completely. 

We also had an issue with frame rates being low. You can swipe left and right to switch between performers and go into full-screen mode. 

Sadly, you cannot change the center point of the stream, so if you’re holding your phone vertically for a horizontal stream, you might not get a good experience if the model is off to the side.

The low framerate we encountered seemed to come and go – we’re not sure what’s going on, but XLoveCam needs to do whatever it can to improve its stability and consistency across the board. We used the same phone to check out rival platforms and they all functioned without a hitch.

There’s a little bit of free entertainment here, but the primary model of income for these girls is via private sessions – tip donations will get you some public shows in a few cases, but they’re few and far between. 

Nudity and masturbation aren’t outlawed, but the camgirls tend to self-police and not give away too much unless you’re paying cash money.

There’s not much else to spend your money on: toy activations are okay, but if that’s your cup of tea, far better freemium spots are available that will stretch your funds a hell of a lot further. 

There are no group shows, but the private rate is competitive and for us, the main selling point of the platform.

As you can see, most of the talent offers private access for under $2.00 per minute: other spots tend to be around 50% more than this on average, so if you want private attention on a budget, this is definitely one place that offers it. 

It’s budget friendly here on XLoveCam.

If we had to sell this site like our lives depended on it, we’d point toward full toy access during private shows, good per-minute rates, a relatively acceptable variety of Latina and European camgirls, fantastic filtering tools and multiple payment options.

On the flipside – stream quality is inconsistent, exchange rates are dubious and there’s little here for those who aren’t loading their account with funds. 

XLoveCam isn't a complete misfire, but we’re disappointed with how close it is to being awesome instead of just good.
