LinkedIn is great for many industries... but not webcam performers.
Too many suits, too much corporate BS.
Where can models go to network with peers, trade tips, and discuss industry trends?
These are the communities we'd recommend:
https://www.ambercutie.com/for...
The Amber Cutie Forum (ACF) was founded by... you guessed it, Amber Cutie.
A popular model with over 15 years of experience in the industry, she's also the founder of CamGirlWiki (now merged in to ACF).
The highlight on ACF is the Ask-A-Model section, a thriving Q&A section where aspiring models can ask for case-specific advice. Inevitably, the most common questions are related to account bans ("why was I suspended on Chaturbate?"), but you can get an answer to any technical issues or weird quirks that you encounter in your daily camming business.
Keep in mind that it's not just models frequenting ACF. You'll also find some major cam site superfans in the general discussion areas, which makes for some interesting dual perspectives.
For private questions, it's worth getting verified to access the model-only forums.
Amber hand-verifies every model to ensure privacy - you'll need an active profile on MyFreeCams, Chaturbate, Streamate, or Stripchat to gain access. We've reviewed all of these platforms on CamsRank, so take your pick and see which works best for you.
One of our go-to resources for connecting with the cam model community is WeCamgirls.
Inside you'll find a wealth of information from seasoned cam models, newbies, and various professionals with close links to the industry (e.g. cam site reps).
The platform is designed with privacy in mind - certain sections are accessible to Verified members only. This is to provide a safe space where models can talk shop without having their posts tracked by prying eyes.
The depth of knowledge shared is pretty impressive. Whether you're looking for tips on increasing your earnings, optimizing your performance setup, or navigating the intricacies of various camming platforms, there's plenty to sink your teeth into - well worth checking on the daily.
It's not just about technical advice either.
You'll find threads discussing mental health, work-life balance, and the myriad of challenges unique to cam models.
Here at CamsRank we spend a lot of time discussing the business side of camming -- with active webcam models, as well as various promoters, affiliates, reps and platform developers.
One of our favorite places to network with cam models is XBIZ.
It's the closest thing to a LinkedIn for the adult entertainment industry.
You might be familiar with their award shows, or their LA-based adult magazine coverage.
Don't sleep on their popular industry networking hub.
Inside you'll find a number of experienced cam models, OnlyFans influencers and the agencies who work with these creators on a daily basis.
The thing we love about XBIZ is the rolling feed of updates, covering news, opinion and community threads from all sides of the adult industry.
It's not the sort of community where you'll find specific tips for live streaming. Most models use it to explore ways to diversify their revenue streams. From discovering new fan site platforms, to leveraging the latest tech, to growing their audiences on social.
It's a completely free resource.
We recommend checking XBIZ daily for camming news and opportunities.
https://www.reddit.com/r/CamGi...
This Reddit community has attained legendary status in camming circles.
With 85,000 members, it's one of the most active communities dedicated to cam work and sex work. Customers are not welcome, although the content is easily accessible so it lacks the privacy of a vetted forum like ACF or WeCamgirls.
There are plenty of Subreddits dedicated to adult webcams, but this is by far the most useful from a model's perspective.
CamGirlProblems also has a newsletter and a Discord server.
Finally we have Elon Musk's playground, X (or Twitter -- for anybody over 6 months old).
There is no specific webcam community on Twitter, but that hasn't stopped models building their own networks of useful contacts, influencers and social media personalities.
As you'd expect, Twitter is much more client-facing than the other resources on this list. The algorithm does a good job of surfacing related news and views, but you'll need a thick skin (or a lot of patience) to deal with the inevitable trolls and horndogs.
Many models use Twitter to build an audience of paying customers, or to drive attention to their upcoming shows.
If you are new to the industry, we suggest you follow some of the bigger names and watch how they execute their social game. There's a lot to be learnt from how elite models engage with their fans - and how they promote their various revenue streams.
