MFC Share Cracks Down on Taboo Content
By CamsRank
July 25, 2024

If your favourite taboo content is on MFC Share, it's time to fire up the external hard drive and save a copy as quick as you can - before it vanishes from your library forever.

Over the past few days, I've seen a number of popular taboos start to disappear from Share's search results, and a growing list of models' videos have been deleted too.

Whether you're a model or a member, once a video is erased, you can no longer access it - censored content will not be available as a hidden album, as is sometimes the case.

It's unclear why MFC Share are cracking down now, after several years of being the Wild West of clip sites, but it's certainly worth backing up your content ASAP, if you have the hard drive space.

Where Have My MFC Share Albums Gone?

Unfortunately, it seems that the admins on MyFreeCams are doing this without any warning, so if your Share albums have already gone, you probably can't get them back.

I've seen some models badly hit by this, losing 30 or more albums in a day. But it's not limited to individual models, as it's affecting sitewide search results.

Even if your taboo content is currently still listed, it's probably much harder to find than it was just a few weeks ago, and it may be next to face the chop.

Models should take action to make sure you have a backup copy of all your content. For members the issue is even more complicated, as not all MFC Share albums allow you to download the video to watch offline - and once it's gone, it's gone.

What Taboo Topics Have Been Banned?

There's no official word on this, but searching for fetishes that had hundreds of results just a few weeks ago will now yield zero Share albums.

A few I found in just a couple of minutes' searching included:

  • Cucumber (but not banana)
  • Fist (but not fisted or fisting)
  • Mommy (but not Daddy)
  • Pee (but not peeing or piss)

It seems as if MFC have censored these words right across MFC Share. Not only will you get zero search results, but if you can find an album with one of the banned words in its title or description, that word will now be missing.

This leads to the unusual position whereby some albums that reference cucumbers (for example) have not been deleted, but the title and description no longer mention cucumbers at all, leaving members to spot the phallic salad ingredient in the thumbnail or be in for a big green surprise.

Why Have MFC Done This?

It's always been a grey area whether some of this content was allowed on MFC Share. According to the MFC Share entry in the MyFreeCams Wiki: "The rules are the same as what models can broadcast on cam on MyFreeCams.com."

That means, for example:

  • No fisting
  • No watersports or scat
  • No vaginal or anal penetration with objects other than sex toys
  • No sexual contact between family members

Beyond that, there's very little documentation about when and why the admins might decide to delete an existing album - particularly one that has been sold multiple times over several years before being banned and deleted.

Significantly, this crackdown appears to include roleplay videos. So implied age play, animal roleplay and non-step relatives (especially Mommy, it seems) could all be facing their final days on MFC Share.

How Can I Save My MFC Share Albums?

MFC Models

Models, if you're worried that your MFC Share albums might be censored under this crackdown, your first priority should be to save a copy of your content to your own hard drive, where MFC can't delete it.

You can do this using the download buttons in each album on MFC Share. It seems sensible to start with anything particularly taboo, or anything that mentions the words and subjects already listed in this article.

This is also a good time to take a fresh look at how you store your content, as putting it in the hands of a single third-party clips site is not a good way to protect your hard work for the future.

MFC Premium Members

Members, check whether your purchased albums are downloadable or not. If the model has enabled downloading, there should be a small arrow at the bottom-right of the video player.

Remember to change the video quality before clicking to start the download, as you will receive the video file at the quality you are currently streaming - and if you have enough disk space, you probably want to save it at 1080p or better.

If the album is not downloadable, and you're on good terms with the model, you could ask her to make it downloadable and explain about this current crackdown.

Of course, there are also browser extensions that can enable you to save a local copy of streaming videos, but these risk breaching the terms of using MFC Share.

How to Avoid Censorship in Future

If you're one of the models who's lost a significant portion of your MFC Share content overnight, all you can do is start to rebuild your online clips library - and perhaps consider diversifying to other sites.

Back in April, we looked at 15 weird camsite rules that can lead to a suspension or ban, and this latest development just hammers home how unpredictable and chaotic it can be publishing content - especially taboo porn - on a camsite clips platform.

Here's our three-step guide to avoid MFC Share censorship in future:

1. Know the Rules and Restrictions

This is easier said than done, as MFC's documentation is notoriously vague, and the Wiki can change without warning or notification.

It does seem like the MFC Share content crackdown is based loosely on the Model Rules for live broadcasts, so if your videos contain anything you wouldn't do on live cam, that's probably a no-no for future uploads.

You should also check the rules on any other clip sites you decide to try. Some are more permissive than others, and some embrace the kind of taboo content MFC's admins are currently in the process of erasing.

2. Broaden Your Horizons

Uploading content to multiple websites is a good way to create numerous backup copies you can retrieve in future, if one website decides to delete your clips.

Put your videos anywhere you think they will be allowed to stay (that is, anywhere where they don't breach the content guidelines) and always keep a copy on an external hard drive - not on cloud storage, as that may be deleted too if it is detected as adult content.

If you've lost videos in the recent MFC Share cull, reach out to your members. They may have a copy saved - even if you didn't make the Share album downloadable.

3. Be Wary of Weird Custom Requests

Finally, it definitely seems to be the more unusual, extreme and taboo content that has been removed first from MFC Share.

If you routinely use Share to send out weird custom videos, you might want to find a different distribution platform for the future, rather than risk uploading content that breaches the MyFreeCams rules for live broadcasts.

We all know that members can make some pretty wild requests for custom videos. There's nothing to stop you from agreeing to create the content - you just need to be more careful about where you put it.

A Timely Reminder: Always Backup Your Content!

Content crackdowns by porn sites are nothing new, and 'extreme' sex acts like fisting and watersports have been controversial for years.

In the FOSTA-SESTA era, many of the big porn sites have taken sweeping action designed to protect sex workers - although it's debatable how well this translates into self-published content like solo masturbation clips.

Within the space of 30 minutes while researching this article, I saw the total number of albums on MFC Share fall slightly, from 459,955 to 459,952 - a very small decrease, but a sign that at least some content was deleted during the half-hour.

For models, the important message is to always keep local backups of your content, ideally on at least two devices (external hard drives do die eventually).

For members, it's a reminder that you never truly own streaming content - so if your favourite taboo MFC model doesn't allow you to download her videos, you'd better enjoy them while you can.
